SIBI Satellite Schools/Church Classrooms

Each year, Sunset has a number of events leading up to, and including, the actual graduation itself. Below is our calendar of events for the 2021 graduation:

May 13 Last Day of Classes for Graduates.

May 13  Ladies’ Salad Supper at 6:00 PM in the Flag Room at Sunset church of Christ.

May 14  Senior Chapel will be at 8:35 AM in the Sunset church of Christ auditorium.

May 14  Graduation Banquet will be at 7:00 PM in the LCU Baker Conference Center.

May 15 Graduation will be at 10:00 AM in the Sunset church of Christ auditorium.

Satellite School Administrators’ Training Workshop
January 23 – 24, 2020  •  Lubbock, Texas

Our next Administrators’ Training Workshop will be held together with the 2020 Sunset Workshop  in January, 2020 at the Sunset International Bible Institute. This is an important time for those planning or considering a new Satellite School program in their area. It is also a time for many current administrators to renew and refresh; we do recommend participation in our training workshop at least once every three years.

As of January 1, 2012 the fees for each course taken are. Toward a ‘Bachelor of Biblical Studies Degree’  each student will pay $90.00 per course; those studying toward an those working toward a ‘Certificate of Basic Bible Studies’ each student will pay $30.00 per course. Fees are due before any student will be enrolled in their course(s).

The Keller School of Biblical Studies is part of the work of the Keller Church of Christ in Keller, Texas. Begun in September 2008, George Carman is the administrator. By April 13, 2010 they had successfully completed all the requirements to be recognized by Sunset International Bible Institute as a Certified Satellite School. Keller is the 17th school to be certified by Sunset. The church’s website is at www.kellercofc.org.

Above is the Fall 2009 class of Fulton Bible Institute in Fulton, Mississippi. Administrator Russ Crosswhite reports they average 51 students per class coming from 15 different area congregations! They have just finished the Bible History II course.

Today, 2018, Fulton has 70-84 students, representing as many as 24 congregations each term.

The Fulton Bible Institute satellite school in Fulton, Mississippi has just completed the Bible History I course. Russ Crosswhite, school administrator and evangelist for the church there writes: "We averaged 46 students from 16 congregations in the Northeast Mississippi area. The enclosed picture is from our ‘end of course’ banquet." The class was also highlighted in a recent issue of the church’s bulletin. The church’s website is www.fultonmschurchofchrist.com.

After being in existence for more than 34 years and occupying  several locations, the External Studies Division of the Sunset International Bible Institute finally has its own building! Through the forethought of Cline Paden, founder and first Director of Sunset International Bible Institute, and the generosity of our present Executive Director and other concerned people, we were able to purchase the building previously owned and occupied by Ted and Dot Stewart’s BibleMart bookstore (originally called the Sunset Bookstore). For years the Stewarts served the school through their bookstore by making textbooks, Bibles and other study materials available to students of Sunset and the brotherhood. Because of health and other factors, they closed the store and retired. They wanted Sunset to have the building, and we are blessed to be able to purchase it, fulfilling their wishes and ours.
