Sunset Satellite Schools

Satellite School Focus

Sunset Satellite Schools are a cooperative ministry between the External Studies Department of Sunset International Bible Institute and local churches of Christ.  They allow local congregations to use Sunset developed materials to train church leaders, teachers, members and future preachers within the local church; no relocation to the resident school of Sunset in Lubbock, Texas is required. The rapid growth in this ministry illustrates how effective this tool has become to hundreds of Christians seeking in-depth Bible knowledge.

Satellite Schools in Operation

Since the beginning of the satellite school program, over 400 churches in 46 states and 20 foreign countries have purchased Sunset’s materials to use in training their members.

Twenty-two Satellite Schools have become certified schools. By going through the certification process, they are allowed to advertise themselves as affiliated with Sunset, request additional help and input for their schools, and use Sunset’s logo. They are located in Fall River Mass., Bermuda, Coffeyville KS, Milwaukee Wis., Erie Penn., Glasgow KY, Roosevelt NY, Medford OR, Odessa Tex., Edmonton Alberta Canada, Bixby Okla., Tacoma Was., Jackson Miss., Columbia SC, Fresno Calif., Albuquerque N.Mex., and Nashville, Tenn., Corona, Calif., Needville, Tex., Keller, Tex., Wasilla, AL, Broken Arrow, Okla., Sheboygan, Wis.

An annual Satellite School Administrator’s Training Workshop is held in January as part of the Sunset Workshop every year. Each year dozens of new Administrators are certified. Around 450 people have been certified at past workshops.
